The LCIS x CRW Security Guard Training Program is the first step toward a professional and rewarding career in private security. Our comprehensive Level 1–3 certification pathway equips students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to excel in today’s security industry.
Through classroom instruction, scenario-based exercises, and hands-on firearms training, participants learn everything from legal responsibilities and situational awareness to defensive tactics, report writing, and armed operations.
Led by experienced instructors from law enforcement, military, and private protection backgrounds, this program delivers real-world insight and professional standards unmatched in the region. Upon completion, graduates are fully qualified to apply for their New Mexico Guard Card and are connected to leading employers across the Southwest.

Electronic hearing protection is recommended, but we have foam ear plugs available for free if you don’t have any.

Licensing Requirements:

Must be at least 18 years old to apply for Level 1 or Level 2.
-
For Level 3 / armed roles, the minimum age is 21 years.

Must be of good moral character, with no disqualifying convictions (felonies, violent offenses, dishonesty, weapons offenses).

Complete state-approved training for the level sought (in-person instruction only, no online substitute).

Pass a jurisprudence exam / test on laws & rules related to private security. The minimum passing score is 90 %.

Undergo a fingerprint-based criminal background check.

Submit passport-style photos (2, standard size) with the application.

Provide proof of completed training (certificate, transcripts) from a department-approved instructor.
