The Field Experience

The Field Experience is a 4-day immersive retreat designed for special operations/veterans, law enforcement, first responders, and individuals exposed to high-stress or traumatic environments.

This program combines structured training, outdoor immersion, team-based challenges, animal-assisted healing, and controlled stress exposure to create an environment where participants can reset, rebuild, and move forward with strength and clarity. At its core, The Field Experience integrates tactical skill development, deliberate physical challenge, leadership conditioning, and biophilic healing practices. The result is a structured, purpose-driven environment focused on recovery, growth, and reconnection.

Participants step away from the noise of daily life and into a setting that fosters meaningful connection, practical capability, and mental resilience. Through shared experiences, guided reflection, and intentional programming, the retreat is designed to create lasting personal impact—well beyond the four days on site.

This is not a classroom.

This is a real-world, wilderness, experience-driven environment.

The mission of The Field Experience is simple:

“To provide individuals with the tools, environment, and support needed to reset mentally, rebuild confidence, and return to their lives stronger, more capable, and more grounded.

The Retreat Experience

The Field Experience is a 4-day (3-night) immersive retreat held at The Flint Ranch in southern New Mexico. This is not simply time away—it is a deliberately structured environment designed to create space for reset, reflection, and forward movement.

Prior to arrival, each participant will complete a one-on-one pre-consultation with Christopher, owner of The Flint Ranch. This initial engagement allows us to understand your background, current challenges, and personal objectives, ensuring that your experience is aligned and, where appropriate, tailored to support your individual process.

Upon arrival, all essential equipment will be issued for the duration of your stay. Participants will be assigned their own designated campsite—your personal space within the environment. This is intentional. By stepping into a self-managed outdoor setting, you engage directly with the principles of biophilic healing, mental recovery, and self-awareness.

For the next four days, this space becomes your base—built, organized, and lived in on your terms.

Program Structure & Environment

Each day is purposefully designed to balance physical engagement, mental reset, and structured reflection.

Mornings begin with a full system reset—utilizing cold exposure, breath work, and guided mindfulness practices to establish clarity, control, and presence.

Days are spent immersed in a combination of individual and team-based activities that challenge both physical capability and mental resilience, while also fostering trust, communication, and shared experience.

Evenings transition into recovery—centered around quality meals and fire circles, where structured yet open discussions create space for reflection, perspective, and connection.

This is a non-clinical environment by design. There are no labels, no sterile settings—just a structured, supportive space where individuals can step away from external pressures and begin to recalibrate with purpose.

Core Activities

The program incorporates a range of experiences designed to engage both body and mind:

  • Nature immersion through hiking and guided terrain movement

  • ATV riding for controlled adrenaline and engagement

  • Equine care and riding to support grounding and emotional regulation

  • Team-based tasks and problem-solving exercises

  • Cold plunges, breath work, and meditation practices

  • Controlled aggression release and stress management exposure

  • Practical self-defense workshops

  • First aid and response training

  • Fire circles and guided group discussion

  • Personal reflection and decompression periods

Each activity is selected with intent—either to challenge, to ground, or to create space for internal processing.

Purpose & Outcome

This program has been developed to help individuals gain clarity, regain control, and address the internal pressures that come with high-stress environments and lived experiences.

It is equally about the individual and the group, bringing together a small, like-minded cohort to build connection, share perspective, and support one another through a structured yet natural process.

The goal is not temporary escape, but sustainable progression.

Beyond the Retreat

Support does not end when the program concludes.

The Flint Ranch remains an ongoing resource, offering continued connection, follow-up consultations, and access to support networks where needed.

The Field Experience is the starting point—not the finish line.

Payment & Booking

Total cost  $1,995 per participant.

To secure a place on the retreat, a 50% non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking. The remaining balance must be paid in full prior to the course start date.

Each retreat is limited to 12 participants, and all spaces are allocated on a first come, first served basis. Due to the limited capacity, early booking is strongly recommended.

We currently accept all major credit and debit cards, as well as cheque payments.

Tickets will be released once course dates go live and will remain available until either the retreat reaches capacity or 7 days prior to the start date, whichever comes first.

If a retreat is fully booked, you may join a waitlist, which is also managed on a first come, first served basis. Should a space become available, the next individual on the waitlist will be contacted and offered the opportunity to join.

  • If contacted more than 7 days prior, a 50% deposit will be required to secure the space.

  • If contacted within 7 days of the retreat start date, full payment will be required immediately to confirm participation.

We also support participants who are funded through unions, charities, foundations, or professional associations (e.g., veteran organizations or similar entities). In these cases, we are able to accept third-party funding or direct payment on your behalf—please contact us in advance to coordinate arrangements.
